JAMB introduces USSD code for 2021 JAMB registration

The Jamb latest news today is that the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) is about to introduce the use of USSD code as an alternative option to the SMS process of generating a profile code for the 2021 registration.

The Registrar of the board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, said during a news briefing at the board’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday that use of the USSD code would commence from Friday, April 30, 2021.

He said

”Another option we are creating asides from sending an SMS to 55019 to generate a profile code will include dialing *55019*1*NIN#.”

This will, however, take effect from Friday, April 30, 2021”.

He also said that candidates who had registered for UTME in the previous year could also generate a code with the same telephone number, following the 2021 process of generating a profile code without any issues.

Also for the date for the Jamb Mock Exams was postponed to May 20th.

While the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) fixed for 5th to 19th June 2021 remains unchanged and the ongoing registration ends May 15th.
